A Q&A with our guest, Chad Galang

In a candid interview, we delve into the mind of passionate dance educator, Chad Galang who share his thoughts, experiences, and aspirations.

Chad is our Guest Teacher for Sayaw Daloy 2.0 this October 28!

What excites you about teaching dance?

What excites me about teaching dance is the opportunity to share my passion with others. Dance is not just a physical art form; it's a powerful means of self-expression, and being able to pass on this form of creative communication to my students is truly exciting.

Also, teaching dance is a two-way street. While I impart my knowledge and experience, I am equally excited about the prospect of learning from my students. Every individual brings their unique style, perspective, and creativity to the dance floor. It's a continuous exchange of ideas, movement, and inspiration that keeps the art form alive and evolving.

What do you love about contemporary dance or contact improv?

Contemporary dance is a captivating art form for several reasons. What I love most about it is its boundless freedom for self-expression. It transcends traditional boundaries, allowing dancers to communicate their emotions and ideas through a wide range of movements, from fluid to abstract.

What do you admire about Daloy Dance Company over the years and what do you hope to share with the Daloy Community?

I admire Daloy Dance Company's unwavering dedication to pushing the boundaries of contemporary dance over the years. Their commitment to artistic innovation, blending traditional and modern elements, has consistently produced relative and gripping pieces.

In joining the Daloy Community, I hope to share my passion for collaborative creativity and the exploration of new movement possibilities. Together, we can continue to push the envelope of contemporary dance, nurturing an environment where dancers and artists can thrive, learn, and evolve.
